    Too small a j-peg and a bit washed out. Add some black to the middle tones and to the blacks in Selective Color to give it more pop. Wonderful pose by the young one.

    Always a pleasure to watch any bird, feeding it's young. This is the first time I have seen this pretty bird. Very colorful. Nice background.

    The colours does looks washed out. I would have liked to see more head turn of the bird on the left.

    I downloaded this image and tried the following:

    1. Used the burn tool and kept the diameter to be more than the image and applied it to make the image a bit darker.
    2. Sharpened the image for the lightness channel in LAB mode.

    These two steps improved the image drastically. Also, you have not tagged the ICC profile for this image, which means the colours you see on your monitor may not be what we see on our monitors.

    Regards,
    Sudhir

    I think, I have kind of a problem with my color management, because it's nearly almost the same comment, when I show my images: "more contrast, more saturation".
    So, may be I have not the right feeling for it, or something is different with the monitors.

    Any idea, how I can go through that problem?
    What do you mean with tagging the ICC profile?

    Sudhir, thanks for working with my picture, would you like to show it?

    Rosl, Here you go. The same can be achieved using multiple techniques:

    1. Click on Burn tool, keep Master Diameter = 1000, exposure 100% and click twice on the image (you will not see the circle as it is bigger than the image).
    2. Run Neat Image (optional)
    3. Image->Mode->Lab Colour, click on lightness channel
    4. Filter->Sharpen->Smart Sharpen (Amount=100, Radius=1.0)
    5. Image-Mode->RGB Colour
    6. Edit->Convert to profile , here Destination Space = sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (This step is important). This is where you convert the profile to sRGB (This is what I meant by tagging the ICC profile).
    7. Save Image.

    Others are welcome to suggest improvements.

    Hi Guys,
    thanks for working with my image!
    I think, I have to calibrate my monitor again or I have a slightly different taste.... For me the both repost show too much saturation and quite "harsh" colors.
    I agree, that my image looks kind of washed out, but for me it is too much in the reposts.

    I really have to work with the color management!

    Peter's version looks quite good on my calibrated monitor. Sudhir's is a bit over-saturated. Perfect SAT for me would be something between Peter's and Sudhir's.
