    Default Skimmers Favorite Fish

    This is the fish of choice at the skimmer colony at Nickerson Beach it provides lots of protein in a not so easy
    to swallow meal it takes the smaller chicks 45 minutes to and hour to swallow one.

    Canon 1Dmk2 500mm f4 1.4x, Tripod, Manual exposure incident meter -1/3 1/2500 @ 7.1 Iso 500.

    Cool capture both of you. What kind of fish is this? You could try to get more details in the blacks and what is the background? Looks like sand but that doesn't seem possible. Thanks for sharing!

    Alex plenty of detail in the black in the original and that is sand they were flying in with a few hundred feet of open sand behind them.

    Love seeing the eye of the needlefish, blacks look black and the cloudy day background works well here. Nice capture.

    Love the fllight pose in this image and the incredible fish puts it over the top for me. Agree withh the above comments. Many thanks for sharing.

    James, I really like this image and the fish is a huge bonus!! (I love how it curves) :-) You say in the original there is plenty of detail in the blacks, but as posted they are lacking (head and far wing are pitch black...)
