I recently went to Machias Seal Island which, for me, was a great thrill. I know many of you see puffins often but for me it may be a once in a lifetime event. I want to thank Grady for giving me the benifit of his knowledge and experience and taking time to talk to a total stranger on the phone to give me the best chance of getting a decent image. the willingness of the people on this forum to share their knowledge and experience is nothing short of amazing. thank you all, for the time you take to critique, edit, and recommend and now, without further adue, I give you the common puffin....more specifically, MY common North Atlantic Puffin. Created with the 70-200 F4 @200 AV 1/3200 eval ISO400. Very little done...cropped to 8x10 and sharpened.
Hi Carole,
There's nothing common about puffins!! I had hoped to get back to Skomer Island for a third trip but time and the weather were against me.
This is absolutely beautiful - well done in every respect.
Regards,
Nicki
Well done. Love the eye. Great of Grady to help out. Would love to see a repost with a bit more contrast and a bit more SAT.

Nicely done Carole! The BPN community is great in my experience when it comes to helping each other out with all things photographic. I recently visited California and did some photography with another BPN moderator, Jim Salywoda, whom I'd not met previously. He was most helpful! Your photo is excellent and Artie's suggestions will take it to the next level. Thanks for posting!
Sorry, I just noticed this thread. Your welcome Carole. Glad you enjoyed your visit and got to see the clown birds up close. Machias Seal Island is a great place. And your photo is a very nice one too.
