    No wonder they are called waders. Just after a rainshower the sun peeked through the clouds. The light was real nice


    30D, 500/4 + 1.4 tc, f5.6, iso 200, 1/500s

    Very nice light, composition and angle. It would be great if the little drop on the bill were more visible.

    That is a beautiful picture with all the detail of the feathers .....nice light and angle too :)

    Lovely light, I would crop a hair from the bottom but you have a winner here!

    This Godwit was photographed in the Netherlands, Friesland. Friesland is one of the most Northern provinces in the Netherlands. It is where i live and organize workshops.

    I can not help you with the exact age, but I think it is young young female. The picture was taken 1 august. Breeding season in the Netherlands is end of april till early june

    I think it is an adult in winter plumage. The juvenile in winter would have more scalloped secondaries it would also be more rufous in tone.
