    Default Atypical Blacktail Deer Portrait

I saw this Blacktail deer peering out from the wild oats near my house. I liked the fact that it was not your usual portrait of the deer in the trees . The soft morning light with the dark background was a help. Then I noticed the atypical rack which was a bonus. I took a lot of images but this one seemed the best to me. Comments to improve this image would be appreciated.

    Chris,

Like the pose and details. For me vertical oats are grabbing little too much attention and not giving enough attention to subject.

The dark area at the top of the frame really doesn't add much to the image and could be minimized. A lower shooting angle might have worked better..
