probably could have used flash here, but it was on the big lens:cool:

Michael,
Exposure looks good at +2 off the sky. Lots of noise though which at ISO 400 I am surprised at. Though I like this type of landing posture, the wing position is not my favorite - prefer a backwards stroke or full front stroke. Flash would have been nice.
Is the noise issue due to having needed +3 off the sky and you opened the image up in post-processing?
I really like this ethereal leaping image, even though noisy and slightly fuzzy head. Agree that +3 EV might have helped, especially w/o flash.
Like the pose and love white on white but there are some big time image quality problems here. Super-noisy, the head looks very soft (not to mention manipulated), and detail is lacking...

Artie nailed this one!!
Looking at the noise and softness I have to ask you if this is a heavy crop..... Artie nailed this one...but I think you should try to find out what caused the noise and softness and work on that.
Hi Michael,
The areas of improvements have already been covered by other members. I echo those thoughts. The concept is good and well tried.
