Photographed on Long Island last weekend. I liked the banking pose and fanned tail in this one. It is cropped from horizontal.

Love the banking angle, fanned tail, glint in the eye, sharpness. The sky-sea boundary is crucial to context, glad you didn't shoot just sky background. Would wish for the boundary to be slightly lower. A very nice image!

Beautiful timing Axel with a lovely flight pose and fanned tail. The BG adds a lot in this image and the horizon is right on. Also like the good eye contact.

I am fine with the placement of the bird relative to the ocean. And the pose is spectacular. You did well at Nickerson; one day or two?

Thanks, Artie! I was there on Sunday morning only. Since I live closer to Nickerson now I can go there more often and also to Jamaica Bay. Did you have more luck on the East or West Pond?
