OK, how about this photo? This one too taken at 7 a.m. at Ft. Desoto beach. I did less adjusting on this one. Mostly a small amount of contrast and unsharpmask and cloned out a couple of distractions in the water. Do you think it is over sharpened?

    Hi Cheryl,
This looks pretty good to me - HA is fine, the colours like nice (whites possibly a little bright??) and I like the BG. I don't think that it is oversharpened for my tastes - will be interested to read what others think. It could perhaps use a little CCW rotation and I would be tempted to crop some off the top.
    Regards,
    Nicki

Hi Cheryl, what a great pose and a nice low perspective, good HA, nice catchlight, good BG, exposure and feather detail. I think you covered all the bases and no, I do not think it is oversharpened, might even add a bit more for my taste. The only suggestion I have is maybe a slight CCW rotation? Very nice indeed.

There are a couple of small "hot spots" in the whites but I'm not sure they are actually blown...could just be my monitor at work. I think it's a very nice image...pleasing BG, nice head angle and you did a great job with DOF (depth of focus). I'm not sure I'd take any off the top as it might feel a bit pinched; instead, I'd add just a bit to the right side to get him out of that dead on center position. Still, overall, I think it's great where it is.

Hi Cheryl! Agree about the CCW rotation. Sharpness is perfect; I'd be tempted to sharpen a little more if you can believe it. I'd like to see a little more room for the bird (bottom and left), as it feels a tad tight in the frame. Nicely done!

I like this one. Nice low angle and good eye contact. I might like it sharpened a bit but I wouldn't crop it. I like the raised foot!

Lovely plover (I think Black-bellied). Not too sharp, could could be a tad more for my monitor. My personal taste would like s bit more room around the bird, seems a bit crowded.
Great pose, nice feeling of motion, good detail.

It is black bellied plover in non breeding plumage Our local birds start changing into breeding plumage but leave before the transformation is over !!!

Real nice images and any little tweaks are just a mater of taste !!! Big Congrats !!!

Thank you, all of you, for the comments. I appreciate it. I was able to get this image due to the one-on-one workshop I had a couple days earlier with Blake Shadle. Thank you Al, for recommending him.

Very nice. I think the sharpness is fine. I think you almost have to oversharpen images a bit whenposting on the web. I've posted images that looked great on my monitor and in print, and they've been criticised for being a bit soft on the web. Thanks for posting.
