Hi Keith a very nice image, well captured, I would be inclined to add canvas to the front of the adult, so that with any approaching danger she has space to advance into and attack

I'm with Loukie on this one. The composition is tough because the chicks are on the right and the parent is looking left. I'm not sure what I would do here. Exposure and sharpness look good. Thanks for posting!

What about removing canvas from between adult and chicks and adding to front of adult, not same piece of course.

Beautiful photo Keith. I do not really miss canvas on the left, I think the chicks provide for balance in the image that eliminates the need for that.

I like the flapping pose and don't mind the space in between parent and chicks. I might tone down the whites on the chest a bit. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the suggestions, very helpful. I added a little canvas on the left, toned down the breast feathers, added just a tiny 2-pix glint in the eye. Better balance?

Composition is improved in my opinion. Nice job!
