Too bad the lower bird has such a poor pose...I really, really wish its head was not blurred and that we could at least see part of the bill. The BG is fantasticly fiery with superb colours, and the incoming heron is very cool :-)

Great angle, light and interaction. I also wish the bird on the ground were in a different pose. Thanks for sharing!

Great color and position of the landing bird. I would consider careful cloning out of the lower bird as it seems to detract. I'll bet the resulting image with just the landing bird will be a killer!

    Hi Marko,

Great capture with the bird in flight and that gorgeous background, but I think the foreground bird drops the impact of the image due to it's pose (if only for better wing and head angles). I had a bit of a play and wondered what the image would look like just focussed on the main bird, thereby changing the emphasis of the image...hope you don't mind. Just a thought, and feel free to disagree (I don't usually play with other peoples images!)

I would have loved to see the lower bird in a different pose...but besides that i really like it a lot. Great timing, setting and exposure. I don't mind the slower shutterspeed as it adds to the action. Nice!

That's an awesome capture. Yes, too bad about the lower bird. But then my attention is still with the incoming bird, so the distraction from the lower bird is not too much. How I wish the birds understood the needs of the photographers and posed accordingly :)

very well done., the lower bird is so far oof, I don't see the need for a better pose, the bif is the main subject, and overall, the shot is excellent as presented., imo.

I much prefer the image with the second bird; removing it changes the story. In addition, the lower bird is sharp by depth of field, the blur you are seeing is from rapid movement of the wings... And it is great that you avoided the merge. The incoming bird is of course spectacular. Love the light and the BKGR.

    All in all, fabulous.
