Default South West Texas in September?

    Hi all,

Since I'll be attending to the ICF Pro-Tour 2008 award ceremony I'll have a couple of days to spend in South West Texas. I'll probably stay in Live Oak county....where I spend 5 weeks last spring. I was wondering if there are any specific things to look for. I know the white-tailed deer have their antlers back (which they just lost when I arrived last spring)..but besides that I have no clue what to expect. If you have any suggestions on places to visit or things to look for, that would be much appreciated.

    All the best,

Are you interested in any particular subject other than the deer? There are several places near by that may be good for deer, but birds in the area are worth a try. Texas parks and Wildlife has several public areas in driving distance. Reptiles are also another fun subject in that area.

Birds are not as good as they are in the spring, but lots of residents remain along with a few migrants going south.
