The tide-going-out left such beautiful patterns in the sand so I played around with different settings and I like this one, especially the little star-bursts in the foreground. As always, your comments and critiques are much appreciated!

Wow, Katie, this is really bright! It turns out most of the bright areas are what we call "blown-highlights" :D As interesting as those star-bursts you mentioned are, they seem to be overwhelmed by all the brightness all over the photo. You know what, if you want it even more dramatic, copy the layer and change the blend mode to "multiply" ;)
Hi Katie,
I can't comment on Desmond's PP ideas as I'm not that competent! I like this image a lot - the sparkly bits raised my spirits this morning after the very wet weather we had this weekend. I might be tempted to crop away the top third of the picture where it does look a little blown-out. I think that the textural quality of the image is really lovely.
Regards,
Nicki
I'm with Nicki on this one Just crop the top part and you go one fine image !!!!
For these the brighter the sun the better off you are Also close to noon gets even better !!! Way to go stopping down since its one of the keys btw sometimes you can try Desmond's idea of multiplying a layer then reduce the opacity to taste !!! Big Congrats !!!
