    You did well considering the harsh light. I like the COMP and the chick's head position. "What's going on out there???" Next time, pray for clouds!

    Yes, great moment captured and less harsh light would have made it even better. I hope you'll get another chance to visit these birds. Do the birds mind if you get close to the nest?

    Thanks Artie & Alex for the comments. Yeah, the curse of the CA summer (no clouds :)) made this picture tough. And no, they don't seem to mind if people watch their nests from closeby as there is an iron fence in between. At one point I even had a juvenile BC walk up and gently peck against my lens hood.
