    Yes I wish it was more crisp but this is the closest I've gotten, there has to be some big secret to getting these dudes in flight. A bit better hand to eye coordination on my part would probably help.:D

    MIII, 300f2.8+2xtc, ISO 400, 1/640, f7.1.

    You don't know how many times I've tried this Nonda. Only wish one of mine was as good as yours.

    All I can say is (about these dudes in flight) it's a good thing pixels are free or I would be living in a tent

    I haven't managed a dragonfly in flight yet either. Maybe everyone already knows but one suggestion I have read is based on the fact that dragonflies often fly the same route over and over and over. So setting the focus for one of the hovering spots is supposed to get us a sharp photo. ...... maybe

    Good try, Nonda. It's got an awful lot of empty space...would love to see it with a much tighter crop.

    Yes Gail that is what I have read to just haven't gotten it to work yet:(

    I think the trick is called luck. I took a friend (who usually only shoots landscapes) out with me for birds (just for fun) and he came back with a dragonfly mating image!

    Looks like you are closing in on it. The swat team has nothing on you, you are turning into a real sharp shooter.
