I think the glare off the water is not helping. I tried to tame it a little but this is about as good as it gets. I'm learning harsh sun is difficult. :(

Well, you certainly got suckered by the sun but you did a great job of getting good, clear detail and nice head angles!!! I really wish the last bird wasn't in the frame at all and, ideally, that the first two had better separation but, again, you got so much right that I hate to say trash it.

If you hate the look of the sun, I'd suggest trying a different format...take the image highkey or subdue the sun with a sepia or black & white treatment. You can also try layering a different blend mode over the top and masking off the areas you already like. Give it another go and see if you don't find something to get the photo where you want it!

Thanks Julie, while this is is a long long way from a Geo cover I wanted it not to "bug me". You made me look again and color balance did help. Oh, and someone shot the tail bird. :)

I see that! It is much better than the original because all the harshness is gone...too bad about that third bird!!! Good work, Bill!

Did anyone ever tell you that they think of Billy Crystal when they see your name in print? Happens to me every time!

Here in Arkansas I'm known as Billy Jo Bear Bob Bubba. :) McCrystyn is the original gaelic spelling before it was anglicized. No relation, although I did enjoy Princess Bride.

Very good on the repost...:) much better, you have sharp details and good hue reproductions. The low flight angle is very nice; it gives your image a feeling of speed...good show..I lioke it...
