    Default Cooperative GBH

For our overseas friends GBH = Great-blue Heron. This fella was quite the poser as it preened and stretched for a long while merely 8-10 feet away. This full frame image was taken between preening sessions at a moment I thought the head angle was at a premium (it spent alot of time looking just ever so slightly away), and with the wind giving the long plume a nice curl :-)

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @350mm, 1/250s., f/8, ISO 400, +1.3 EC, handheld, full-frame.

Excellent portrait. Love the crazy plume and neck feathers

Wonderfull and very nice, full of texture and color, the sharpness and the fact that it is a full frame makes it even better, I would've just darken a bit the BG to get more contrast especiallywith the chest feathers.
    Congratulations! Nice one!

Very nice Dan and it was especially nice to see that "Blue" is back on his spot and still allowing us very close approaches,,, :-)

    Another of your great images.
I agree with Ramón about the darker BG.
