    Red carpet welcome, Keld :)

Hope we can motivate you to improve your skills!!

Lovely composition and excellent clean background. I like the fact that the bil shows motion blur because it illustrates the fast movement. The eye looks a little soft and that is something you could fix in post processing. Nice soft light and great EXP control.

Thanks for sharing this and looking forward to more!

Welcome to BPN, Keld! Great first post. I like the action captured. Adding to the comments by Fabs I would increase the saturation. Keep them coming!

    Greetings Keld and welcome.
I agree with the earlier observations.
And while I really like the soft, pastel colors, I wonder how it would look with just a very small amount of additional contrast.
Your hours spent waiting paid off !

    glad you like it.
I forgot to say on the second copy i made a partial sharpening of the eye because of the motion blur in the eye.

    best regards Keld

How do y'all like the new eye and the color balance of the repost? I would love to see a sharp one of the bird holding the fish.

    Welcome to BPN Keld!!

A neat photograph to start. Of the three versions so far I like the middle one best colour-wise. I do like what Artie did with the eye (the catchlight fix does negate the motion blur in it )...I also notice the web is gone beneath the perch :-)

I also think the middle one looks best for color and eye sharpness. Still wish for less motion blur in eye and top of head (if a little visible in web-sized jpeg then probably way visible in original). Lovely action and setting

    hi all.
Thans for your comments and suggestions i really appreciate it. thats what make os better photografers and not just to say "nice picture"
About Arthurs version it lookes like Nikon D2x colormode III in lightroom 2?
Sorry to say i like my own number 2 better, the saturation is to ritch compared to real life in my opinion.
    But thanks for the effort
You said you would like to see a picture without the motion blure, okay here it is
i have brigtend the eye and burned some of the hilights in PS.
    hope you like it?

Best regards and thanks for a warm velcome. Keld Sørensen

Hey keld, wellcome on board! Your first post is very nice, good OOF background, sharpness, very good light angle, action and a great subject. the only thing I do not like is the color processing. I am not familiar with adobe lightroom but I am familiar with the species and with the Nikon D2X and this one doesn´t look natural to me. I made some adjustments on the color, mostly on the orange and green areas that seems bluish in your image, another round of noise reduction to the BG and a slight touch of shadows/highlights filter. Here is my result. Hope to see more of your work here.

Thanks for the sharp one Keld. And great job with the color Juan. I knew that the color balance was off from the images of this species I have seen on BPN but could not get it right.
