    Image made along the Saint Johns River. This fella was sitting atop a chain length fence right at eye level with my vehicle, made for a nice plane.
    Canon 40D
    EF400 f/5.6L
    Av f/8 & 1/1000s
    ISO 400
    Adjusted color/NR in LR. Cropped (just a bit off the left), sharpened and framed in MS Digital Image.

    Great detail and light. Well exposed too. The crop seems a little bothersome to me because there is more space in the back of the head thtn in the front. You could try and crop some off the right for a more balance compo.

    Keep them coming!

    I like the light, mood and details and would also try a different crop, maybe even vertical or square. The BG looks a bit noisy.

    One thing I think you made out well here with is the feather details. Excellent exposure too.

    I like the rough looking feathers and the "mottled" face. The orange bill adds as well. Some crop from the right might help
