With the lupines up close and the Elk Mts. many miles away, I thought this would be a good way to show DOF. I shot this with a Canon 20D at 160/sec, F20 at 18mm, ISO 400.

This is beautiful, Joanna. I like the perspective, nice composition and it is all sharp from front to back. I have no suggestions for improvement. Love it as is.

looks so realistic that I started to sneeze! I see your focal length was 18mm, but would be interested to know which lens

Thanks for the kind words Katie and Stephen. I have the Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens.

What beautiful scenery you have Joanna! I love Lupines! Lovely image! Looks like the sun was a bit harsh on the lupine leaves?

Nonda: The sun does not come up over the moutains highlighting this area until about an hour and a half after sunrise. That is an issue I have here in the Rocky Mountains often. I wish I could catch the first light, but that is not possible. Maybe I could use dodge and burn and cool them down a little?

Joanna I wouldn't worry about it really, was just asking/commenting. I have a clump of lupines in the front yard and have yet to manage a decent image of them no matter what time of day:)
