    Hi Everybody,
I am usually to be found on the ETL forum, but when I saw Artie's 'snowy silouette' this morning I was reminded of this picture that I took on my last visit to Florida in March.

This is so cool Nicki !!!! Love the back lit bg Here you only needed a flash fill !!!! For these you can dial in all the plus you want and remember not to let the shutter speed creep to high !!! Cropping a little looser might have helped also but this is a strong image !!!!

I love the compo here, specular highlights can look very attractive. I find the whites in the bird a little muddy, did you use shadow/highlights? and a slight head turn, no too much, would have been desirable.
Snowies will ne here waiting for you :)

Not your usual egret image, the background highlights evoke 1960s design for me. :) I agree with the fill flash and small head angle suggestions.

    Hi Fabs,
Yes,I did use shadow/highlights, but I guess I could have fiddled with the sliders some more. Looking forward to the snowies!!

Nicki, I really love this one. The light, the "donuts" (I think they are the papparazi! sp?) and the detail in the feathers. It's all great.

I agree with Al about the composition being too tight but the result is really nice and artistic. Well done
