From the last trip to Newfoundland a straight forward motion blur of a kittywake against the cliffs. These birds were moving at a good clip so I was able to bump the shutter speed a little higher that I usually do for these type. The key here is panning smoothly with the bird and making the image with a pleasing bg Shutter speed was 1/100 sec f 11

Nice capture Alfred of one of my favourite birds.
Inspires me to try a few slow shutter pans of seagulls and terns next time at the seashore or estuary !!!!

I like it, esp. the placement of the bird in the frame. Nice soft, muted colors. Was the bird in the middle before a crop?

Artie I was not using the center sensor to keep the bird to the left of frame. This is probably 90% of the frame !!!

Now, Al, THAT'S the way to make a blur image of a bird! I love the way the head and tail are totally recognizable yet the wings are streaking like someone lit them on fire. What a beautiful image.

I love this image. It would have been wonderful if the background would have been al light coloured one. The placement is really good.

    Fantastic Maestro...:D
Very nice capture, this guy was moving at a brisk clip... Composition is dead on with the bird placed just right in frame, flight angle is a killer...congrats. I like it...
