Another summer, another reason to get out in the backyard and photograph HB's. Whats nice about that is I can have my young kids running around screaming and playing and the HB's just don't seem to mind, they are too busy getting their fix of the junk (sugar water)
The only thing I considered doing differently was cropping a bit more off of the bottom, but since I'm one of those 3:2 ratio croppers (new word) I didn't as it would have gotten too tight on the right side.... thoughts? Give em' up.

While I generally leave the 'environment' alone, I agree it would be good to remove that one white flower bit extending onto the head.
You'd preserve the integrity of the 'setting' and enhance the beauty of the image.
Nice work!
I am fine with the framing. The light looks very harsh and the entire image looks too light and a bit washed out to me. Also, the bird's head is angled slightly away from you.

Very nice Mike. I llike it a lot. I too have hummers in my backyard with lots of opportunities to photograph them, but I have nothing this good. If it were mine, I wouldn't change a thing.
