This was my first attempt at HDR. Four (4) shots on my Canon 40D ISO 200, F/8.0, 1/100 sec, EF 24-105mm F/4.0L, 28mm, sRGB, Pattern Metering, Auto WB, Auto Exposure. Comments are welcome.....

i think this one is a ton stronger than the last one!! i love everything about this. the sun streaks rock and all the lines lead you into the photo. if anything i might shave a little bit off the right side, just enough to crop out that palm that is just barely showing at the upper right corner. fantastic capture!! this is a winner for sure. and it also fits the next assignment as a composite since its four images!!

this is what my wife would describe as 'interesting.' HDR has certainly given you an image that you probably can get any other way,
    but is it really pleasing?
In my own very limited experience of HDR landscapes, and I have not yet learned to anticipate how a scene will turn out. It sure is fun trying. Does anyone know if there are any good threads on this topic in other forums?

Hi Richard - like the composition and how you have captured the rays of the sun coming through.

Cant decide whether this works for me or not - The trees have a doubling blurring effect that sort of makes it different to the rest of the picture .
    I think I like it.

Hi Stephen So far the best HDR program I've seen is PhotoMatix Easy to use It comes in two form One is a plug in and the other a stand alone version. Would recommend the stand alone. Can get results right of the bat !!! Post is you have problems.

Sure are getting some amazing colors Wondering the same thing as Mike !!!

    Richard,

I like the image! But I don't look at it as much as HDR as a art image. If that makes any sense:-)

I used Photomatrix 3 with each photo 1 stop apart starting at -2 EV. I think the problem with the slight blur was the wind blowing the upper palms. I used the alignment feature, but I still have some blur. I'm not sure why it looks more like an art image than a photo in the fronds, yet the clouds come out correct. Then again it is my first try. By the way, Photomatrix is very easy to use.

btw when you bracket make sure to do so by changing the shutter speed !!!

i think it is the slight blur in the fronds that makes it look more.............artful. my .02.
