Hi Ric! You've got good sharpness and eye contact here. I would definitely brighten up the bird, as it is underexposed. The title is cute, but I would do something about the stick coming out of the bird's head. That's an easy fix. Thanks for posting!
Nice head angle. Your EXP problems began with your -1/3 stop of EC... When working against the sky, some plus compensation is almost always needed, and if the light is soft or if it is cloudy, you need to add lots of light. Lastly, you need to learn to check and evaluate each histogram... Recommended reading: Exposure Simplified in ABP II.
