Default Crested Tit - Scottish Highlands

    Hi all,

Here is a Crested Tit taken in the Highlands region of Scotland. One of several images taken of this bird.

    This one was 500mm f6.3, 1/160. -0.3Exposure, ISO640

I can't decide whether the food in the beak detracts or adds to the image, so I thought I'd ask your opinions.

    Thanks and regards,

    Austin

Austin, to me the food morsel detracts and unpleasantly stands out from the rest of the frame. I love the rest of the colours here, it looks very themed and neutral. Background is lovely, as is sharp wings of the tit. Again, the image honestly really appeals to me apart from the food in the beak.

    Hi Austin

What a lovely little bird I have been hoping to see one in my garden, no luck so far

The background is lovely, and IMO the food does not detract from the image at all, although I find that my eyes are drawn to the tree on the right of the image, Could you crop a little more off?

    Regards

    Jacqui

Beautiful image but I agree with Jacqui and would crop right side from where the branch enters the trunk.

    Hi Austin,

What a lovely composition. The details in the tree and bird are excellent and the BG is as clean as it gets. The food is not a problem at all but I wish the bird was facing you a little more as it looks like is going to fly away.

Interesting composition and great BG. I only wish for a bit more head turn.

I very much like this composition as is. I feel the tree to the left gives a lovely stability to this image and the BG is excellent. The only thing I would wish for is as Maxis mentioned just a slight more of a head turn. Otherwise lovely work !!

I really like the composition on this image. I also wish for a slight head turn.

I like the image, but for my taste it could a slightly lighter and a bit more saturated.
