    Default Coneflower at Takeoff

At least to me it has the feeling of taking off -- hopefully for you not too much toward leaving the frame :)

Photographed in Bennett Arboretum, a small natural area in the park that lines Hines Drive in Northville, MI. In this area, they planted native wildflowers to let them naturalize. When I was there two weeks ago, the coneflowers were among the peaking varieties. I missed a bit earlier this year, but there should be some more species blooming throughout the summer.

Nikon D80, Nikon 105 macro, ISO 200, f/6.3, 1/50 s, tripod, LR & PS to polish it off.

    Hey Bruce,
Like the play between sharpness and fall off and also the contrast of colors. Very well composed

Really well done, Bruce. I would have loved even a little more of a tilt as I think that would add even more to the composition but it's really lovely as presented. DOF and exposure are sweet and I love that you didn't try to oversaturate the image.

Beautiful image, Bruce. I really love the colors here. And the dof at f/6.3 works perfectly for you here. This is one I'd love to have in my portfolio! Very well done.
