Kingfisher with Fish

Taken with Nikon D300, 500 mm f4 lens, ISO 400, f4.5, 1/1250. The white neck is overexposed. I find it is really hard on these birds. Would appreciate your feedback. Thank you. Amanda

Very nice image. I've always found these birds hard to photograph as they seem so shy. Great background, and I love the fish. The neck doesn't bother me. Maybe the eye could be a tad lighter.

Whites on the neck do look a bit hot on my screen, might be ablt to fix in P.S.

Really nice Amanda I like it a lot A difficult bird for me !!!

I like the bird placement in frame, good space for the virtual tail Head angle is good and having lunch a big plus Agree with whites are without detail which are easy to blow on this bird, also having his lunch facing us would have been a treat !!! Doing well !!!!

Nice work, Amanda! Those whites can be a real pain, can't they? They don't blow the image for me but they would have been nice to have had detail in that area. Al's right...more of a head turn towards us would have been sweet but you did a really nice job as is. Keep trying! I have yet to capture this bird up close myself.
