    half an hour after sunset , this family of kudu came to drink from the waterhole in front of our tented camp. I was very pleased with the the results of the D3 in such bad light.

    D3 + 400 f2.8 plus 1.7 tc. tripod pus wimberely head.


    ISO 6400 ,1/100 @ f4 .8 matrix metering , no exp comp.

    30% crop.minor adj in levels, hue /sat, sh/hl. noise reduction in PS, and smart sharpening.

    Amazing for the high ISO Peter !!!! Did you consider the other way and going with a blur? Would increase the temp a bit and if you had some room on the left would be great. Very appealing image !!!!

    Agree on the timp with Al. and the room on the left...

    Might like some room on the left. White balance shift towards warmth as Al suggested seems to suit my tastes too.
    The details in the grass however have taken a beating but I do understand that one cannot expect much at ISO6400.
