My wife and I went on several garden walks this weekend. This was one of the many fuchsias that we saw in baskets.

    Hi Sid --

Lovely fuchsia. I guess I would humbly suggest darkening the background a bit, especially the bright green leaf in the left corner and the one at the top.

Think we'll ever meet up at the Chicago Botanic Garden?

    Hi Sid,
Beautiful fuchsia! I agree that a less distracting BG would be more complimentary and the whites on the stamens (???) look a little hot to me.

Great image Sid. Love the colors and the way it's presented. Agree with the bright background.
    Congrats my friend.

Agree on the bg Just use the vignetting tool for darkening the corners and draw attention to the center !!! like it a lot !!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I used the Lightroom vignette tool to tone down the edges and recovered the overblown whites on the hanging stamen.

Kent, we should plan to meet at the CBG one of these days.

Sid, I would have liked to have seen a bit more depth of focus (DOF) here. The purple petals seem to be pretty sharp but the pink ones on top and to the side could have used a smaller aperture to help bring them into the same degree of detail.

I also wouldn't mind less room on the sides and more on the top and bottom, creating a more vertical crop.
