Very nice Fabs! Composition is excellent as usual. Perhaps a tad more contrast and a little more sharpening on the head of the near bird, but an excellent photo overall!

Nice shot Fabs, but I think that if the back bird was a step forward, the "echo" would be a little stronger. I like these types of shots. The face of the near puffin looks very gray... is the Atlantic species that way or maybe this is darkened too much? I see a white perimeter (or halo) around the margin of the face which makes me think you used the highlight tool a little too much.

Milo, no shadow highlight necessary since I had all the time in the world to get the correct exposure. The day was overcast, hence the dark look in the face.

    Thanks all for your comments.

Sometimes their faces are quite gray - I have noticed this with the puffins on Skomer Island as well. Beautiful picture - I love the soft light.

    Hi Fabs,
I'm usually not a fan of these type of images but feel it is done so well..........perfect echo so to speak. Only thing for me is to get rid of the bright BG grass behind the OOF bird as less of a distraction and further emphasize the echo pattern.
I'm not even going to think about going into Mike's debate on who's image is better between couples.

    I'm sure it was a typo, meaning "I" :)

After our teens, we all suffer from the same maladies :)

Thanks, Fabs. According to one response, their faces can be a little gray. Nice capture!

    Hi Fabs,
I like the soft, misty look to this and the muted, yet still vibrant, colors.
