    Got this guy hanging out on a small pine tree.



    Nikon D200 - Nikkor 300mm F/2.8 w 1.4x TC
    ISO 400 ~ F/6.3 ~ 1/640 sec ~

    Ouch! It's so pretty it hurts :)

    The placement of the bird is a bit centered, but having the pine cones behind him makes it acceptable to me. Good going!

    Nice perch, pose, and BG Mike. I think the bird is too centered in the frame, and would crop some off both the right and the left (more off of the left). Very pretty though. Thanks for posting!

    Beautiful! The composition works for me for the same reason as Fabs. If anything I would probably tone down the needles, especially at the tip of the perch. Is this the same individual that you posted a couple of months ago?

    Hey Mike,
    I'd probably only crop the RH 1/2 pine cones coming into the frame.......yes, this will leave a 1/2 pine cone on the edge of frame........but it will be going out of it and be less of a distraction for me anyway............that being said..........killer BG/pose and perch.
