    Default Dinner Date Re-post

It appears that the image of my "Another Dinner Date" is not going to appear; hence the re-post.

Another day, another dragonfly But still no wind.

    Canon 40D; 100-400@300mm
    1/800, f/7.1, ISO 400
    Flash Exp Comp -1
    Hand held
    Subject at 9m

Slight crop this time (about 80% of original); tried to fix some red eye; burned
the white belly. Hope the color is OK; I still don't trust this new set up.

(Anyone else working in Windows using a laptop with an external monitor and a
graphics card that doesn't have an LUT?s --whatever that is? If so, how do you
    manage calibration?)

Comments and criticisms appreciated. thanks in advance for looking.

Even with the critiques you mentioned, you can't beat the pose, especially with the dragonfly wings out-spread.

Color looks fine to me Kent! Super neat pose, I think you did a nice job of your own critique

Kent, nice image as presented! I would like to see more depth of focus (DOF) in the wings - if you had more sharp detail in them it would have really put the image over the top for me! I also wouldn't mind a bit more tilt to the bird in the frame and positioning him more towards the bottom left, leaving the bird to appear to be flying into the frame instead of straight on.

Overall, it's a really nice capture!

I like it a lot Kent Difficult capture particularly having he bird as large as you have it in frame

Catching it with a meal is a big plus For me the one thing that would make it even stronger is seeing both eyes You do have one looking great and the other obstructed by the bug's wing. Do like it a lot as presented btw love that spread out tail !! Big Congrats !!! ..... colors look fine !!!

    Default Grerat Shot

I really like this one. Not an easy shot! The dragonfly makes the shot. Good work!
