Default SIx Little Birdies All in a Row

I created this image near Seaford Head while on a two week trip to Sussex County England. This family of Barn Swallows (simply called Swallows in England). The youngsters had fledged but still would perch waiting for the parents to return with food. I would have preferred a better perch (the rail of a barn door) but this iswhere I found them.

The chert embedded in the concrete is a typical design in many Sussex buildings.

In all I saw about 30 species of birds and I was able to photograph most of them. Several were life list additions including a Peregrine Falcon. :D

Canon 40D, Sigma 50-500mm at 500mm, 1/500 sec. ISO 500, F 9.0 Handheld. Criopped to ~40% of full frame. Unfortunately I couldn't get closer because the barn courtyard was gated.

Given the overall setting......I think you did well. It tells a story......hungry swallows looking for some tidbits. We always like nice clean BGs but this is where they live and that makes it a great documentary image. I'm wondering if maybe a slightly different crop such as a pano would give more attention to the birds and less to the BG.

Thank you Lana and Al. I must admit that I thought of a pano as well so I'm not sure why I changed my mind. Here's the re-post. :D
