I shot this in Corbett National Park. Shy bird, runs away at the slightest sign of danger.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, focal length 800mm (EF 400mm F2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII), ISO 400, F5.6, 1/40 sec. It was really tough as the light levels were low. Full frame.

Lovely crisp image and good eye contact, also like the backlit effect. The foreground is a little cluttered, but you made the most of your opportunity with a shy bird. Well done.

With a 2x TC, u've managed to keep the bird really sharp Sabyasachi. Lovely side lighting u've got. Liked ur composition too.
Not sure but slight boost in contrast in the bird might add a punch I feel.
