Default House Finch Turn on Prickly Pear Cactus

    Hi Folks:

We had the Cactus Wren go through its paces. This time I took the Female House Finch, converted the photo to B&W in CS3, then with brush painted House Finch with black to restore original color (Colour). Different, probably many pros and cons. However, I do like to play, and who knows (Only the Shadow) what might popup.

    C&C's welcomed

Hi Uncle Gus - like were you are heading with this one.
Colours look slighlt unreal to me - bird is showing up as purple on my screen - although not being familiar with this bird - it may well be that colour.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Also, the bird looks like it were cut out from a cardboard, looks unnatural. I'm sure somebody would know how to make the transition better.

    Hi Folks:

I apologize to you as I didn't mention that I wasn't depicting a bird in natural surroundings. I have seen so many photos not featuring birds lately and sometimes very surrealistic. Folks seem to like them so I thought I would try my hand too. Guess I was wrong, not the first time . They say Art is in the eye of the beholder, and to me with birds I love the work of folks like Artie, Fabs, and other photos similar to theirs. Artistic can be off the wall (Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse) however, in my eyes bird art doesn't seem to have a popular niche in that catagory. What I had in mind was something like a faux oil painting which on second thought was muy loco. Sorry I got de-railed . . . Uncle Gus
