Sorry, I'm sure the in-flight part but not sure if that's a solitary sandpiper. Or is it a yellowlegs :o

    D300 70-300 f4.5-5.6 VR @300mm; f5.6 1/1000 ISO 400. No flash. Manual exposure mode. Hand-held.

    The back-ground is the sky.

    C&C welcome !!

Is it too early to submit future assignment ? :D

    Hi Desmond!

Very nice hand-held flight image with the detailed wings in a nice down position. Good job also in getting the bird flying toward you! Nice and sharp, with good exposure of the bird leaving the high key background sky. For high keys, sometimes a very thin black frame may enhance it from the white background of the forum.

Outstanding, Desmond! Looks very sharp to my old eyes. I like the feather detail and the catchlight in the eye.

Love it. And I think it is a lesser yellowlegs, solitaries' leg color is usually to the yellow- green.
One for the wall, me thinks.

Elegant flight position and very sharp !! Sure wish the light was kinder with you !!!! Would try selecting the dark area in the wing and try bringing some detail.
