    Nikon D300 ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
    1/1000s f/5.6 at 400.0mm iso250

    Hand held, natural light, 75% of full frame, no bait

    Taken this past winter while working as hard as I could to get the all natural cool flight shot of one of my favourite birds.., I can't wait to get going at these guys this winter., almost better then shooting in Florida.!!

    Great pose, eye contact and the habitat adds interest. I might clone out some of the blades of grass near the bird.

    Hey Ray, love the habitat in this shot, nice work getting the head sharp. Cloning grass in this would be a long and tedious task, but if you were bored and had nothing else to do I would clone the thick one directly in front of the hawk:)
