Default It's an ambush ... (bug)

Les Vignes, Tarn gorge, Dept. Lozere, France.
Canon 40D, Tokina 100mm f/2.8 @ f/8, 1.3 seconds, ISO 160, MLU, Berlebach Mini tripod. Crop to about 2/3rds of the original frame.
On this image I am a bit ambivalent whether I should crop off more of the orchid flower below the bug or not...

Beautiful image Karl. I personally would crop about an inch below the leaf on the left.

Nice image. Agree with Jody on cropping a bit off from the bottom of the frame. Also if the abdomen was sharp, it wud've been great.

Yes, I agree - take a bit off the bottom. Also, I'd clone out the stick that is coming out of his head and the blurred one in the lower left quadrant. I think those two things will really minimize any distractions from your intended subject.

The comp looks great to me as is.

The only thing I would like to see different is the point that Kaushik mentioned about the focus. It would have been great to have the plane of focus more parallel with the Bug's body.
