I have been trying to identify this one, this is my second bird shooting, I found on the web that in some places they refer to it as Cattle Heron in others as Cattle Egret?
The light was mixed and heavy cropped, 70%. In this image I am trying to obtain an adequate head and body angle.
    K10d, da*300 f:4, ISO400 , -0.7 EV, f 5.6, 1/1250, multi- segment metering, no flash, tripod assisted, 8:00 am.
Again thank you in advance for your C&C

It is a Egret Alberto !!! Not a heron ..... and cattle it is !!!

You made a pleasant image and probably the best possible from your position. As presented would only suggest more room up front, the bird feels centered.

Images with mixed light generally do not work. I try hard not to press the shutter since I know what the outcome will be. I love the pose, head angle and look. btw you should see these guys in full breeding plumage ..... amazing and it only lats a few days !!!

Nice shot Albert. In my limited experience, I find that the shadows on the bird detracting from the image, and also as Al mentioned a little more room in front would make it not so centered. It was a hot and bright day last Saturday at he rookery.
    congrats,

Awesome Bird Alberto - agree with all of the above - except for one thing - at this stage in my learning I ALWAYS push the shutter button - as there is always something I can learn from every image.

I really like his head angle, eyes and crest. I think he would look better with more image to his left, so he's looking more out of the frame.

Head angle and body angle are good. Wish that the far wing were completely raised. EXP good. I am with Alfred-I almost never make images in filtered light...
