From the recent trip to Newfoundland go to go out in zodiac to chase whales. Had lots of whales jumping this day and were not easy to photograph since it was very rough. Seas were running an honest four to six foot with rollers. Green water would break over the bow of the inflatable... tough for cameras. Use the ThinkTank cover and it worked very well !!! Highly recommended

Hi Alfred,
Looking at the shot, I was about to ask how you were taking care of the camera and lenses. I can imaging how tough it is to shoot from a inflatable and manage the horizon. It is easy to blow out the whites especially with such a background. You managed well. I like this shot.
Given the difficulties involved in getting a good whale picture this is a very good shot. You have reminded me to get down to Hermanus to see if I can get some decent shots at last, at least there you can do it from the cliffs.
Love this one! you two must have had a really excellent time photographing these animals! What makes this really special IMO is the profile view with the cool flipper pose with a view of the eye even! Like the birds flying in the distance. To be real nitpicky I would clone out the antenna in on the hill just above the whale chin. Big congrats All!
Excellent image, capture, and composition Mr. Al...:D The action here is great; and you have the bonus eye to go along with the package...congrats...When you go on assignment for The National Geographic, I want to go with you as your understudy...:D;):p:)
