Taken a couple of weeks ago as the sun was slowly setting, Lots of things I would have liked better for this one....

    Slighlty more head turn
    better reflection
    better crop

However I was pleased with the detail in the eye / iris.

i might agree with you about the reflection, but as far as the other two items go i might have to disagree. maybe since the reflection is not as strong you might change the crop to include less of the reflection and more room overhead, but i like it as presented because i can still see the eye and beek in the reflection. the light is fantastic!! great job, mate!!

I just like it a lot, the lighht is beautiful, the pose and "quietness" are very nice, the reflection doesn't look THAT bad at all, the head turn I think is fantastic, more head turn might have ended in a no so peacefull pose, so yeap, I would give a bit more room, but I like it a lot! Congratulations!

Also agree it looks very good Lance !!! I'm fine with the head angle and crop !! An alternate crop would be to do away with the reflection since it is not really strong but do find it appealing !!!

I like the soft light and exposure Very good feel to this image !!!!

Lance - Agree with Al - you could lose the reflection. I really like the sharpness and mood of this image!!

    Cheers,

Hi Lance, I like the reflection the way it is!! Beautiful bird.
I'm doing my very best to keep those puffins warm for you my friend! Unfortunately they will leave any day for their winter vacation in the ocean :( - so we won't see them until next May.....

    Mr. Lance,
Another fine job buddy...:) I like it as presented...Love the soft pastel colors of the background and the details on your bird. The reflection is fine and the head angle sets the mood to this picture, it tells the story...congrats buddy...

Lance, I think this is really lovely. You mentioned you weren't happy with the crop and I was just wondering...what if you shaved off both sides and added a small amount of canvas to the top forming a vertical pano shot??? That might really bring the bird and his lovely reflection into focus even more.

    Beautiful lighting, BTW!!!

Lovely light and bird. I would keep the reflection as the head reflection is in a relatively clear spot. I wish only for a bit more head turn towards you. BTW, thanks for your order!
