It's a shame considering how much they get paid. I would be tempted to take this photo to the city and show them and tell them exactly what road this was on. How horrible of that person or persons to do a thing like that.

As a lover of what is, I love this one. It cracks me up. While all are judging the worker as "lazy" and "horrible" and his actions as 'shameful," doing Byron Katie's work on these feelings might reveal a few things... Do we know that thoe thoughts are absolutely ture? Perhaps the guy was distracted by an accident or a hot babe. Maybe his glasses were an inch thick. Maybe his wife just left him and he was having trouble concentrating (or perhaps he was incredibly happy because she left). Let's consider not being too quick to judge. If you can see this point of view, you might enjoy visiting www.thework.com and become a lover of what is.

Artie, I take your point. I find that it becomes easier to deal with many things in life if you bear in mind that we are who we are - warts and all. As for being quick to judge others and to making assumptions, The Four Agreements is an illuminating read.

Hi Nicki, As you might suspect, I have read that one several times. Good stuff, but The Work has had a far greater impact on my life.

I agree with Artie..........we have rushed to judge this person..........and I may have an insight as to what actually happened. The sprayer to paint the lines is either controlled by computer and if the driver stopped suddenly........he would also have to shut the paint flow off as he is the one to control it..........pretty tough at 30 mph........and if you leave a yellow pool....don't even mention swerving....we will be questioning his intelligence. If it was and old manual system........with a person positioned on the back of the truck.......controlling the sprayer.........he is looking through an eye......to contol and align the spray.......how would he know that the driver was going to stop.........all at 30 mph.......another big mess with all of us calling him moron!
Yes there are lazy people........yes there are mean people........I prefer to take the "Glass half full" approach .......and consider most people good, hard working and honest. I may be wrong and the guy did it on purpose........but I will not rush to judge society on 1 persons actions. Makes life much more pleasant!
This also proves how powerful titles can be!
