    Default Brown Pelican burst

What's Florida without the Brown Pelican? Gald I had the ooportunity to photograph one in nice surroundings. This one was having fun flapping and jumping in the water. In anticipation of one such jump I aimed the camera towards it.:)

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, 1/1250s., f/7.1, ISO 500, -0.3 EC, handheld, cropped a bit right and bottom for composition.

Neat pose, eye contact and splash. Maybe a bit CW rotation.

The finer aspects which make this a good image have been stated. I wish though both feet were visible somehow.

You certainly nailed that one! Great action shot and a very clear and sharp eye.

Sharp, way cool on the water droplets, and nice COMP. The dark upper half and the angled horizon line dissecting the bird take away from the impact.
