    Nikon D200 ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
    1/1000s f/5.0 at 400.0mm iso200

    hand held, natural light, vertical crop.

    Taken last winter, with thanks to Jack Rogers for helping me find my way around the great birding land called Florida, USA.

    Very nice shot, I like the pinsharp head and the slight movement in the wing and toe tips

    Very cool shot! I don't believe I've ever seen this bird with a totally clean BG.

    Very cool pose Raymond. I like the profile landing action. Maybe its just me but I detect a very slight subject motion blur in the eye area - maybe its the catchlight needing some attention.

    This is a fine Purple Gallinule image. The body position, BG, wing position, light and details are all first rate.

    This is really just a fine point but I cant help but wonder if ISO 400 and 1/2500th @ F4 would have sharpened up the wings more.
