Canon EOS-1D Mark II N, Shooting Date/Time 7/19/2008 05:41:03, Shutter Speed 1/640Sec. Av(Aperture Value) F5.6, Evaluative metering, Exposure Compensation -2/3, ISO 400, Lens: EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM, Focal Length: 300.0 mm. Hand held from the Kayak. Full frame and cropped for a 9x12.

This is the last of the loons till fall. I hope to get some of them in their fall coat and the fall tree colors in the background. The baby is nowhere to be seen for sure. I hope they have a better time of it next year. Thanks everyone for the kind comments and suggestions for improvement. Now its off to focus on some landscapes like lighthouses and perhaps some mariner images.

    Hi Grady,

What a lovely colors in the water. I think the composition works here because of the head angle. Usually I would like to see more room on front but I'm OK with it for this one. However, I think it needs a little CW rotation.

    Keep them coming!

Just lovely with this light and the background - excellent.

It's great to see the difference in images from these to the previous.

    Very sad about the chick...
