i'm sorry about yesterday, i thought there was enough detail to be ok.
Hi Mike,
a few points to consider here. Your duck is on the soft side, out of focus, also it looks like she is swimming down hill. You need to correct the water level. The angle of capture is too steep; it would have been better if you were lower on the ground. Would suggest on lightening up the water, I think its a tad on the dark side, and the contrast could be boosted up a bit...I like what you were trying to do...:) just keep at it...
Mike, at the risk of giving unwanted advice I'd like to tell you a story about John Long, who is a world famous rock climber (He was the first person to climb El Capitan in Yosemite in one day). Someone once asked him who was the best climber in the world, and he replied "the guy out there having the most fun". There's only one way you can fail at this and that is to lose the joy in it. What's important is whether you take pleasure in your photography. I think we all post here to get advice to get better, and it's nice to get compliments, but please remember that these are opinions, and this forum is specifically designed for people to be critical, so some awfully good photos can get raked over the coals. I personally like seeing your work. Dont get discouraged.
