Same Kite as yesterday. different pose taken vertical instead of landscape at 8:27am. i dont think the light was too harsh here? the only hotspot that showed up was the catchlight in his eye. added some density to the bird and blackened the iris of the eye a little. desaturated the reds and the greens.

I think it's a nice image. As for if the light is harsh, perhaps it is judging by the feet. I guess if the light were softer, more details would show. The size of this image could also make those details not that visible though. A couple of branches in the foreground are now touching the frame. I always have the impression that it may not be a good thing composition-wise. Hopefully some would shed some light on it.
Gus, it looks like what you have there is a color cast. You can go into levels and click on the gray eyedropper, then click on a spot that is supposed to be middle gray and that should pull your color cast down into the cooler tones and leave you with some more natural looking light on the bird and branches. I'd also think about toning down that top wing - it's just a bit too bright.
As for the branches on the right side, I don't mind the two that are going OUT of the frame but the one coming IN needs to go for sure!
Love the expression on your kite's face! Good catch!
