    Gayle, what does it do that the B&W converters on EFX 3.0 don't do?

    I do a lot of B&W conversions, but saw it a little pricey.

    BTW: the upgrade is apparently for the Capture program (i.e. Nikon users)

    Michael, Silver Efex Pro is far beyond any other black and white converter. I really love it. I spent a bit of time with it during the beta testing and was amazed by the power of it.

    On the left side of the program there are many preset styles like soft sepia, ambrotype, high contrast yellow, etc. On the right side there's individual controls to control brightness, contrast, structure, filter colors, There's also film type selectors and vignetting, toning and more. There's control points to control the effects and it works with Smart Filters in CS3.

    It is pricey so you might want to download the free 15 day trial and watch the video tutorials to try it first.
