    Image was cropped top and a little off of the left side. Gausian blur was applied to the background to soften it more. Should have used a faster shutter speed but I forgot I was on aperature priority from some flowers I had just shot.

    Hi Chris,I like the composition,
    The perch compliments your subject by adding a splash of color to the image. I would recommend boosting the contrast just a bit and sharpening the eye...congrats...:cool:

    The image is nice overall but it looks a bit light on my monitor. Also, if you look closely, the tip of his beak got blurred when you blurred the BG. I love that little feather sticking out!!!

    Good catch on the bill tip by Julie. In the same vein, there is a halo around the top of the bird's head and the leaves in the from the blurring. And the head is turned slightly away from the imaging sensor. I like the soft light and the colors.
