    Default Parting Tampa Bay

    Attached Images Attached Images

As the tide began to rise and limit some of our Roseate Spoonbill photographic opportunities, Artie came up with a solution.

This is an image of Artie's attempt to "part Tampa Bay" so we could "pass on dry ground".

With arm's raised and great supplication, he began his attempt.
Only to realize, he left his staff at home!

We had to use the boat to get back.

I don't know about wearing vests in the water - if you fall in you lose equipment. :D

    Good looking image James.

    Good looking image James.
You solve that problem by not falling in.:)

However, another potential problem wearing a vest is the possibility of a huge freighter wake taking you out.

I still do not understand why the waters did not part...

Actually I have no clue as to what I was doing except perhaps checking the sun angle. And I have no idea what I was doing so close to the mangroves...

Question for Robert A. If you have your teleconverters in your pocket say, instead of your vest, guess what happens if you fall into the water??? Seriously, I custom load my vest each time that I leave the boat (or my vehicle for that matter...)

I resort to putting all the equipment (TC and perhaps flash external power supply) I need in pouches on the tripod, then if I need to drop the tripod lower for an image move the velcro pouch to a higher position on the tripod or up around the flash bracket. I go out with nothing in my pockets.

Anyway, I was joking around with you. I know you know what you are doing. ;)

This thread is so much fun! I needed a good laugh. James, that's quite a photo and a wonderful caption.
